Tim Jackson was born in Preston and studied at Manchester University and the RNCM. He was a member of both the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House and the Philharmonia Orchestra before joining the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra as Principal Horn in 2010.
He has appeared as soloist with orchestras including the BBC SSO, London Mozart Players, Manchester Camerata, and the Philharmonia. As a composer and arranger, Timothy has received commissions from groups as diverse as the Academy of Saint Martin-in-the-Fields, the HallÈ, the Philharmonia and the Royal Opera House.
Tim played on the original London Horn Sound recordings with Tony Halstead and is currently writing new commissions for the Tony Halstead Horn Ensemble.
